Originally from South Florida, my adventures and education have taken me to Northern Ontario, the windy shores of Lake Champlain in Vermont, and finally to my forever home in Knoxville. Nestled in the beautiful hills and mountains of East Tennessee, I’ve settled down with my fiancé and two wonderful cats, Batty Wampus and Captain B Snax.

My first love and area of study was clinical psychology, where I learned how to thoroughly research, synthesize, and present information. Through the trials of graduate school I discovered my true passion in building learning content. In a moment of prophecy, I once told my mentor “the only thing I want to do is make PowerPoints and build lectures.” My mentor replied that the only job for that was to teach. Thus I began my teaching journey.

After some post-grad years teaching and advising, I discovered that my true desire to build learning content was in fact a field of it’s own! I left higher ed and jumped into my instructional design career with both feet. It’s so energizing to have found a career that fills my cup. I especially love gamification, and the opportunity to bring novel learning experiences to adult learners who are not interested in class settings but want to take advantage of self-paced learning informed by sound adult learning theory.

When I’m not working as a learning content professional, I love embracing creative hobbies like gel nail art and miniature building, and adventuring with my friends while playing Dungeons and Dragons.
